Meet Lorna Naeve, Library Director

Lorna Naeve has proudly served as Library Director of the Gilmore City Public Library since January 1, 2019. Her journey with the library began as a part-time staff member, where her love of books and passion for community service quickly took root.

A rural Gilmore City resident since 2001, Lorna lives with her husband, Jay, and together they share a full and happy family life with five children and eleven grandchildren, ranging in age from 23 years old down to just 5 months—with the youngest two being an adorable set of twins. Outside the library, Lorna enjoys side-by-side riding, gardening, and settling in with a good book—and you just might catch her out riding on her own Can-Am Spyder.

During her off hours from the library, Lorna is often accompanied by her puppy, Izzy, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who keeps her smiling and busy when she’s not surrounded by books.

Lorna describes the Gilmore City Public Library as her “happy place” and brings that enthusiasm into her work every day. She is passionate about making the library a welcoming, fun, and friendly space for all and is committed to strengthening it as a vibrant community information center where people of all ages feel comfortable, connected, and inspired.

Meet Shirley Brundige

New Children’s Librarian at Gilmore City Public Library

We’re excited to introduce Shirley, a friendly new face at the Gilmore City Public Library!

Shirley joins us with an incredible 25 years of experience working with children and families, and she is looking forward to connecting with our community.

This summer, Shirley will be leading the fun—reading, planning, and hosting activities for our Summer Reading Program 📚☀️

You’ll also find her sharing stories each week with the children at GC-B Daycare, bringing smiles and a love of reading to our youngest readers.

In addition to her role as Children’s Librarian, Shirley will also serve as Library Assistant when Lorna is unavailable.

Shirley is a new resident of Gilmore City and is very excited for this opportunity. Be sure to say hello when you see her—whether at the library or around town… you might even spot her at Casey’s! 😊
